In semester B (starting July 18) the Faculty of Education at the University of Waikato will offer a masters level paper entitled ‘ALED 551-15B Special Topic: Children’s Literature and Educational Contexts’.
This paper will begin with a block course at the Hamilton campus on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July (9.00-3pm), and will continue in an online medium for the rest of the semester, with readings and facilitated online discussions.Topics to be covered include an introduction to children’s literature and educational contexts, postmodern children’s literature and new media, multicultural children’s literature, and analysing the visual in children’s literature.
